This work explores themes related to women's beauty, fashion photography, and the pressure to perform beauty retouching. For this project, the photographer and models paired with a startup lingerie brand seeking to create a simpler, kinder company for women. For the photos, we aimed for natural, authentic portraiture. We shot in the environment of an actual bedroom with natural light, avoiding the world of studios and harsh lighting. The models did not undergo intense beauty prep before shooting, and zero beauty retouching was done on their skin in post production. The result is an alternative to the way fashion photography is currently done, encouraging a change to the core of the industry.
